The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a faculty position in entrepreneurship within the College of Business and Economics (CBE). The CBE has been accredited by AACSB since 2000. Candidates are expected to have:

  • a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels;
  • a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise that will result in publishing his/her research findings in refereed journals; and
  • the ability to actively engage in promoting the growth of the Business Administration program and the CBE at the UAEU through personal outreach and outreach with students to small and entrepreneurial firms as well as larger entrepreneurial organizations.

The application package should include (1) a cover letter, (2) a detailed resume, (3) names of at least three references with contact information, (4) research statement, (5) teaching statement that includes a list of courses taught, and (6) outreach statement detailing previous work individually or with students in support of entrepreneurship in the community and region and/or academic profession and how this experience might be used to build a program at UAEU. English is the language of instruction and communication within the CBE.

CYFE is the Center for Young and Family Enterprise at University of Bergamo (Italy) that conducts collaborative, multi-disciplinary research on sustainable value creation by enterprising families, family firms and young entrepreneurs through inter-generational reinvention, entrepreneurship and innovation.

CYFE is currently seeking candidates for a 2year post-doc position in Entrepreneurship and Venture Creation. The post-doc will be placed in the CYFE and will be integrated into the Management Engineering research group. We offer a challenging job in a dynamic and motivated research team.

Requirements for candidates:

  • Preferably a PhD in the area of Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, Technology Management, Innovation, or related areas (including sociology and social sciences in general)
  • A promising publication record
  • Willingness and ability to engage in a project on Entrepreneurial Universities, which both requires substantial conceptual input and more practical project tasks (e.g., interviews).

We are interested in candidates, who show substantial commitment to the project, an ability to work independently and to deliver conceptually high-quality results. Expected responsibilities will be:

  • To publish his / her research in the leading entrepreneurship and strategy journals
  • To contribute to the teaching and community-engagement activities at the University of Bergamo. Teaching load, in the area of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship, will be marginal as research will be the prevailing activity.

Packages (salary, teaching loads) follow a collective university-wide agreement and will be competitive. The contract consists of two 1-year full-time positions, and the second year can only be started after a positive evaluation of the first period. Language of communication will be English; although Italian language speaking is not required, language classes will be offered. The post-doc researcher will gain the opportunity to strengthen his / her research profile by cooperating and co-authoring with senior co-authors on a fully funded research project (that includes a visiting professorship scheme) in association with the members of the CYFE Scientific Committee.
