New Interim Editor and Editorial Office for JSBM – Launch June 1 '09
The International Council for Small Business (ICSB) is proud to announce that as of June 1, 2009, the Editorial Services for the Journal of Small Business Management (JSBM) will be housed at the George Washington University in Washington DC, USA. On behalf of the ICSB Board of Directors, officers, and global network of members, I would like to sincerely thank Dr. Chandra Mishra, Ms. Karen Duray-Smith and the entire FAU staff for their outstanding support and contribution to the success of the JSBM over the past 10 years. Under their guidance, in 2006, the JSBM earned the distinction of having the highest percentage increase in total citations from January 1995 to December 2005, in the field of Business & Economics, according to Thomson Scientific's Journal Citation Report for the Social Sciences Edition.
Moving forward, the JSBM will have a new Interim Editor and a new manuscript submission website to improve operations related to the production of the journal. We are most fortunate to announce that one of the leading scholars in the field of small business and entrepreneurship, Dr. George Solomon, has agreed to serve as JSBM’s new Interim Editor. Dr. Solomon has published and edited over 130 articles, books of readings, book chapters, reference materials and proceedings articles in both the areas of Entrepreneurship/Small Business Management and Organizational Behavior & Dynamics. Dr. Solomon also served as the Academy of Management’s Best Paper Proceedings Editor from 2007-2009, was awarded the National Innovator Teaching Pedagogy Award at the 2009 United States Association for Small Business (USASBE) Conference, and was selected as the Outstanding Paper Award Winner at the Literati Network Awards for Excellence in 2009. Dr. Solomon is a Past-President and current Chair of the Wilford White Fellows of the ICSB and a Past-President and Justin G. Longenecker Fellow of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE).
As Dr. Solomon begins his work as Interim Editor of JSBM, and we move forward with the transition of editorial services to GWU, we are committed to a seamless transition and improving service to authors thanks in large part to our new Manuscript Central submission website for JSBM - http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jsbm. After June 1, 2009, please submit all manuscripts via this online portal. The process has been designed to be straight forward and intuitive for authors, reviewers and all executive committee members.
During this period of transition, the ICSB Board of Directors, under the leadership of the SVP Research and Publications for ICSB, will conduct a comprehensive, international search for a new full-time editor.
Please contact the ICSB International Office with any questions related to JSBM and its production – jsbm@gwu.edu.
