About New Business Actualization Plan
In 2004, SMEA began the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plans with a focus on three areas; Business Start-up Counseling Services Program, SME Innovation and Start-up Business Colleges, and New Business Actualization. The three stages of guidance are based on the lifecycle of any newly established enterprise, that is, the seeding stage, getting the new business established and the continuous growth period, are recognized as a way to provide better and complete services for start-up businesses. This service is meant to help both those who wish to start their own businesses and those who have already done so, and then by this means enhancing the success of SME entrepreneurship.
Seedling Stage: Business Start-up Counseling Services Program Plan The major tasks for this plan include: establishing an entrepreneurship knowledge base; enriching the contents of the entrepreneurship fulfillment network; publishing the entrepreneurship tutorial handbook; organizing entrepreneurship talks, opportunities for exchange of ideas and experiences and entrepreneurship composition activities, et cetera, throughout Taiwan in order to provide platforms for the further sharing of experiences and exchanging of opportunities in entrepreneurship through a variety of channels. The plan also integrates academic resources, encourages academic research on entrepreneurship – related issues, publishes journals on entrepreneurship management, urges publication of related papers, and develops entrepreneurship assessment tools. All these efforts are made to promote entrepreneurship, help entrepreneurs reduce business risks, and thereby help entrepreneurs find potential opportunities and markets in hopes of prospering the overall society and economy of Taiwan.
Establishment Stage: SME Innovation and Start-up Business Colleges Plan The purpose of this plan is to cultivate managers for newly established businesses by organizing courses on practical management methodology for people wishing to start their own businesses or for owners of newly established businesses still in their early growth periods. This year's course contents include the organization of an elite entrepreneurship program, entrepreneurship elective courses and entrepreneurship workshops. In addition to courses, entrepreneurship seminars and international entrepreneurship activities are organized to invite domestic and overseas business experts and academic scholars in particular areas of entrepreneurship to discuss entrepreneurship – related issues, integrate entrepreneurship – related information reinforce connection with the world, and help SMEs to broaden their international vision.
Growing Stage: Actualize Your Dream Plan For owners of newly established businesses who have complete entrepreneurship plans or who have established their businesses in less than 3 years, as recommended by the College for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cultivation, the Entrepreneur Fulfillment Workshop provides one-by-one guidance, on-site diagnostic services, in-depth project guidance, as well as technology matching, entrepreneurship diagnostic proposals, and strategic alliance services. The goal of the program is to create a cradle for incubating high-quality entrepreneurs, and discover business start-up ideas with potential for development. With the help of industrial, government, academic and research sectors, this program provides all the necessary counseling and assistance, evaluates the feasibility of business start-up plans, reviews the conditions, capabilities, business goals and strategies of the new entrepreneur, and helps entrepreneurs to reduce risks by following business start-up principles and procedures. In this way, it hopes to help these entrepreneurs to realize their dreams, thus becoming a pillar of support for the growth of new SMEs.
Competition on Newly Established Businesses – Business Start-up Award
To encourage newly established businesses to develop new technologies, new designs, new products and new services, SMEA organized the Sixth Business Start-up Award. Any new business that completed the registration by the Company Law of Taiwan are welcome to apply for the Business Start-up Award. The award consisted of 4 categories, Technology-Niche Industry and Micro-enterprises Group. The aim of the awards is to discover potential, newly-established businesses and to promote entrepreneurship in order to encourage the development of a knowledge-based economy. |
