The annual conference of the Canadian Council for Small Business & Entrepreneurship (CCSBE – www.ccsbe.org) is scheduled to run from Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 18th, 2009. This year's conference marks the 30th anniversary of the creation of the CCSBE. The event committee has an ambitious agenda aimed at bringing together entrepreneurs, policy-makers, academics and practitioners to explore how we can fuel growth in Canada through the "Commercialization of Innovation".

CCSBE 2009 will be held at the Ted Rogers School of Management, one of Canada's leading institutions for entrepreneurial education, in the financial heart of Toronto. Some of the conference highlights include:
  • Over 20 seminars for entrepreneurs that are designed to help them be more effective at running their businesses.
  • A gala event on the evening of Saturday, October 17. The event will be held at the Design Exchange, where Dragon's Den member Sean Wise will interview Brett Wilson. Other entertainment will include the Aerial Angels who will perform circus acrobatic acts as well as Soul Stew and Mystic & Miranda, who will provide live music for the evening.
  • A kickoff reception at the Hard Rock Cafe in the heart of downtown Toronto.
  • 30 presentations from academics, policy-makers and practitioners on how to nurture entrepreneurial growth in Canada.
In addition, some of the conference keynote speakers include:
